Hey everyone,

Just saw an SV650s (description below), and wanted to get your opinion before I make the plunge. The bike has a lot of aesthetic mods, but has damage down one side - lower fairing (an additional mod) cracked around crash bobbin, slight scratches. Would you buy it for £1,900?

Suzuki SV 650 SK4 S
Candy blue
10,200 miles
No MOT required till August 2009
Just renewed the tax this month so no need for tax for a whole year.

The bike is fully faired with original suzuki fairings as can be seen from the pictures £250 ,

Comes with Datatool alarm kit and Alpha Dot which set me back £300

Also comes with Scorpion Exhaust After market can, noisy as you want it to be but also includeds buffer to reduce the noisy if you don't want neighbours complaining.

Comes with crash protectors

Carbon fibre mirrors and original mirrors.

Included is a restrictor kit worth £240 plus certificate and installation.

Rear hugger is included as this also helps to improve look and gives it that sporty look £55.

Brand New front tyres, haven't even done a mile on it.

I haven't been able to mention all the modifications but these are the ones that come to mind.

Also included is a seat cowl £65 and ofcourse the spare seat if you want a pillion passenger.

Fully garaged but have been caught up in rain a few times, doesn't affect appearance of bike in any form or way at all.

Doesn't sound too bad, though all the shiny bits are a questionable.

If you need the restrictor then yeah I'd say buy it. Any of the mods you don't want just ebay 'em and get some cash back. The alarm and restrictor would cost nearly half the value of that bike to supply & fit.

Don't need the restrictor - planning on getting it removed. Does it cost much to take it out?

if you dont require the restriciton it may be worth taking it out and selling it on you should get at least £100 for it which makes the deal even better

How easy is it to take out, would I have to take it to a garage?

I would think it would be a pretty simple job. Be warned though that some replace a part so make sure you get the original.

Lots of talk about what it looks like, none about its service history or mechanical condition? At 10,200 miles it should have had a couple of services by now.

What kind of restrictor kit is fitted - if it is a replacement part is the original included? A K4 is injected so it won't just be simple 'washers in the carbs'.

Where's the original exhaust? Is the Scorpion marked 'Not for road use' cos you won't get it through an MOT if it is.

If it's a pointy sv and not a curvy, the restrictor is carb washers, if pointy, ecu unit- neither of which cost £240. I sold my ecu for £40 - and removed it myself. There's svs for sale over at the sv650 forum, that sounds ok but the damage devalues it a bit.
