I'm interested in the Bros 400, SRX 400 and Goose 350. However, I can't see myself finding any of these bikes any time soon.

So what are some good bikes to have restricted? Is anything over 60bhp off limits? What are your experiences, good and bad, with restricted bikes?

I was thinking a CBR 400/600 or a SV650.

I'd like something with good mpg and a reasonable top end (preferably in three figures, but I can live with 85-99mph).

Thanks

BAT Motorcycles have a list of 33bhp bikes, you might find something on the list that tickles your fancy.

I have a kawasaki ER-6f which is restricted to 33bhp. Its done about 110mph but I cant get much more out of it while restricted. Im quite happy with it and have not had any problems with it. I would not say anything over 60bhp is off limits...the ER-6f has 70bhp derestricted. I would think the sv650 could be ok as well.

SV650 is cracking restricted. I've just finished mine, but it was great.

Bros 400s aren't all that hard to find, make a great first big bike I should think and no need to restrict. Lot's of low down power so they don't feel slow really, even compared to my CBR600.

ER5 , topped out at 90 , but acceleration was unaffected and it reached the 90 mark rapidly.

I found my restrictors from my ER5 in my car the other day (been there 2 years), could sell em if anyone interested.

I got my Bros 400 at the bike shop near Box Hill - they import both the Bros 400/650. They have sheds full of them (well they did back when I bought mine).

The Goose 350 is a loony bike, I would advise getting one of them when you've a bit more road sense! I test rode one a few years back and it was wicked fun.

SV650 is a good one to restrict, a good learner bike.

Was going to suggest GPZ 500 - the guy that had mine before me had it restricted and said it wasn't far off as nippy

I'm looking for a restrictable bike myself. I'm thinking a fazer 600, on the grounds that it's the kind of bike I'd be quite happy to keep hold off for a good few years after my 2 years runs out Smile

My Speed Four was good restricted and that was 98bhp, it could still hit 110 on the speedo. Any bike barring heavy stuff and 2 strokes will be fine.
