I've never been to court so I don't know this for sure. Take it for what its worth.
If you get a speeding offense you have the opportunity to appear in court and plead your case to have the offense overruled, the fine or points dropped or lowered, or offer to take a defensive driving class to have the points dropped. I don't think it costs anything and many people who have expensive tickets will do this. I have seen this show on TV here and some of the people have legitimate reasons and win their appeal, most go in thinking they are God's gift to the earth and that should grant them the right to never be penalized for driving outside the law. This guy got instant karma for his behavior in the courtroom.
