i am disgusted, a couple of months back (you may remember me posting) i had 118 pound stolen out of my bank account.
The bank told me they would get the fraud team onto it and they would send me a letter for me to sign
So last wednesday i decided i had been waiting to long for this letter to arrive and i WANT my money that was stolen from me, they asked me to comfirm my number and they read it out to me it was something like 07755667788, i was like "No that is not my number nor has it ever been" as you can clearly see for yourself it has been made up.
She also asked me to confirm my address, and it was somewhere in newcastle as the post code started with 'NE', i do not live in newcastle, i live in cumbria!
I am appalled by this, how could somebody Change my address with no proof of my identity?
This is why i never received any letters from the bank concerning fraud, as it was sent to this fake address in newcastle!
Also this morning the bank called me, asking my D.O.B, and asked if i made any overseas transactions
They told me that somebody has attemped not once, but twice to buy a bike for over 5000 pounds from the US, and told me to hold, so i held for about 20 minutes and then told me they were too busy to talk to me!!
I am in utter disgust right now, feel like suing there sorry arses!!

May be a case for them having broken the laws of the data protection act which the FSA look very dimly upon.
I'd contact Lloyds and inform them that should the matter not be resolved by the end of this working week and suitable compensation not be put in place for the trauma it has caused you then you will be contacting the FSA.
Then I'd contact the FSA anyway just to shit some people at Lloyds up!

They could have changed your address by virtue of knowing your logon details, which they could have learned via a key-logger on your PC (introduced via a trojan). Have you opened any odd-looking emails recently, or been on any dodgy websites? ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

None atall, but my laptop really is in quite a state, but im pretty sure that you can't change your address over the internet, considering i don't bank online
i've been told you have to go in the bank with all your proof of id, proof of where you lived and where you are moving to, surely they have in my files in the bank, a photocopy of my passport so if they did change it in the branch they should of known it wasnt me?
I am in a panic now, i'm glad i didnt have 5k in the bank!
What if they have took out loans in my name and all that bollocks, i could get in a lot of trouble for of some skanky arsehole out there ____________________ Sym Fiddle: SOLD

Get yourself signed upto
https://www.cifas.org.uk
They will then notify you if anyone attempts to set any loans etc up in your name.
From what you say, it sounds like someone has got hold of your personal details...
You do shred stuff like bank and any other post/bills with name and address on.....
No good going to the FSA yet. All they will tell you to do is follow the banks complaints process, and nothing can be done till this is followed.
I would send them/deliver to local branch being the best and get it signed for... A letter of complaint asking them to explain exactly what has been going on with your account.
You could also for a £10 get ALL the details they hold on their systems, which would list stuff like change of address etc. Thats falls under the DPA and the £10 is a std charge ALL buissness will charge for this service. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I don't shred anything, and i still live with my parents so i don't pay any bills, and i keep everything the bank sends me and if i do throw something away i rip it rather than shred it
My boss mentioned a few sites i could use but i scared to use my computer for stuff like that ____________________ Sym Fiddle: SOLD

That is disappointing, I've had two cases of fraud on my debit card it the the last twelve months, and Lloyds TSB sorted them both out very efficiently.
I'd write and complain or visit your local branch and get it sorted out, you shouldn't "have" to but in this case it might be best if you did. ____________________ My claim to fame: Austin Vince nicked my pen...

I had a call on my mobile from my CC company when I was away from home. They left a number to call them back and I wasn't happy to discuss anything, as I said they could've been anyone. They asked me to call the number on my card and gave me details of Dept to ask for - you have to be really careful these days!
They were questioning the fact that I was in Merthyr Tydfil and had put my paying the hotel bill down as possibly fraudulent - now if that isn't racist (sorry to all Welsh folk from Bank in India) ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

well i didnt really get the chance to ask them any questions because it was a computer talking to me, i would of suspected something if they asked for any of my bank details or for personal details, the only thing it asked for was my d.o.b
I'm going to go to the bank tomorrow, sick of talking to people on the phone, and if they do fuck all then i'll send a letter with a load of verbal abuse
then go from there
thanks guys

He was called by a automated system....
Which will only pass you to a real person, once details confirmed.
Calling the local branch, would at a guess not show any details as often these systems only put notes on overnight, when the systems auto update.
Thankfully we use real people to make these call's. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |
