Can you use NCB on two policies?

I need insure on the ZX6R, but I'm already using my NCB on the CBR.

I assume I'd be able to use it again on the ZX6 policy with a different company, but the lady on the phone said I couldn't as I was already using it on the CBR policy.

I've never heard of that one before, does anyone know for sure?

I think she's right. One lot of NCB per policy only.

Can be a good thing though - have an accident on one policy and it only wipes out your NCB on that single policy.

It's just insurance companies making more cash. NCB should be applicable to any and multiple policies, it's proof that you're a lower risk than someone without it therefore should lower any premium.

Afraid she is right. It is standard practise and it's mostly to stop people trying it on with multiple policies.

Go for a multibike policy.

Tried that, but since my dad is insured on my policy too you can't do multi bike, multi person policies.

No it's not - it's an appreciation that in the last 5 years of paying the premium for that policy you've not claimed, thus you can knock 10% off for the following year because there's cash in the kitty.

You wouldn't be using that argument if you had 4 policies running with full NCB and had a £500 car park ding which resulted in all 4 of your policies getting their NCD knocked back and costing you a fortune.


FWIW there IS a way of using your NCD twice (or more) but it's a bit on the tricky side, takes a bit of prep and is what you'd call morally questionable. But there is a way. Not going to announce it publically, for obvious reasons, but there is a way.

I can on my eBike policy. Not the cheapest policy out there though.
