Hi everyone !

This is my first post and could really do with some help please !

I have a Suzuki GSXR 600 K1 and have had it since November. I have only been out on about 4 rides due to wonderful British weather. I was last out on it about 2 weeks ago and it rode fine.

When I went to set off yesterday noticed that 1st and 2nd gear were fine but it would not go up into 3rd. It would come back down to 1st no problem and when stationary would go up and down through all of the gears fine.

What is wrong and how the hell do I rectify it ?

Any thoughts or help are very welcome.

Thanks

Very strange. Have you checked the gear lever tie-rod. Sometimes the locknut comes loose and it adjusts the lever downwards so that your foot holds it from centering the detent star for the gear you're in. When that happens you cannot select the next gear up.

Have you changed your riding footwear recently (got new boots?). This can cause the same as the boot profile can mean you need to adjust the lever.

try greasing the gear lever where it goes over the footpeg spindle. GSXRs can seize onto the spindle when left outside for a while with no use.
