Yes it does...

I know I still have a job, the thing that annoys me is that our comapny made 9.6million euros last year clear profit. We are "bought" as part of a 5 year contract and our rises, reviews etc are put in as a standing rate and not based on shares.

Its not my client it's my own company.

But yes I do still have a job, still I think I can be pi55ed and Karma to those worse off. Thumbs Up

Even though i'm on a Performance Related Pay scheme, i know that somehow i won't be 'achieving my targets' this year! Regardless of what i've done!
But i'm thankful of a job in this recession.

I've got my year end review on Thursday and i expect it to go very well indeed. Won't mean shit though, no bonus to come from it and there won't be any pay rise either

I'm just glad I've had a big pay rise in the last year just before the banks started falling on their arse. Well, for that, and for still having a job at all of course.

Sucks though Thumbs Down

Same here mate, no pay rise announced when we got back after the christmas holidays. I don't mind too much as I got 6.75% last year so I'm viewing it as being spread over two years.

Last week they announced 9 redundancies, thankfully not in my dept. but I'll give it until April before there's another bout.

you have my sympathy, that's shite.

my place have to increase our wages inline with a contract with the union, to re-coup the extra money paid to staff they governor will be decreasing inmate wages.

lucky for me, but not so much for the rapists, murderers and paedophiles.

I will only be getting a 4% increase this year, down from 6% last year plus only a £1000 bonus at tax year end as opposed to the normal £2000-3000.

Nightmare! Laughing

All managment on a salary of £60,000 or more at our place will not be getting their pay increase this year but no doubt they will get it backdated a year or two after when the economy is a little stronger.

Well I really doubt I will be getting a £2K rise this year like I've had the last two. If I have a job for the rest of the year I'll be most grateful though....

Does crack me up the amount of people still getting arsy at their employers or doing stupid things.

As my dad says about anyone saying/doing /anything/ stupid;

'Oh really, ok we'll look in to it/sort that out'

*You're going on the list*

If they need to make staff cuts, it'll be whoever irritated the boss last. Rule number one Laughing

No pay rise, bonuses suspended.

What pee'd me off was we weren't even asked, just told - general consensus here was we'd have agreed if asked.

I was asked to step up into a more demanding position last year, told it would be looked on favourably come the review / pay rises Rolling Eyes

I agree with all said that its good to be able to come to work today. I do feel for anyone who is in a worse situation than me.

Still pee's you off though Laughing

I am still waiting for some of the banking bod's to be brought out and shot!

If a managing director does not see that policies are put in place to ensure your safe in work and you get hurt doing something without there being a set of rules in place the Managing director gets pulled up if your killed for example offshore then its Corporate manslaughter. If theres a set of rules you dont follow and hurt someone or yourself YOU get pulled up.

Now tell me where and when is it ok to sell bad debt for years and for so long that when it comes out noone gets hauled out and strung up for it? Millions are feeling this people losing homes, jobs, companies collapsing, but yet we are still protecting the people that got us here? Surely people have considered if not already taken their own life over this? Surely thats constructive suicide and people responsible should be held accountable?

A very blanket opinion of course but there is truth in it.

ahh I feel better now Thumbs Up

There will always be ups/downs in a country's economy, people have just got to try and plan for them as best they can. maybe this will shock some people into being more frugle with their money.

The IMF states that it will be the worst experienced in 70 years which puts the UK in the depths of the great depression.
