Probably not a good idea, and you won't be able to put a 125 engine in it.
Basically if you want to get technical, a 16 year old riding a 50 that is faster than 30mph is actually riding without a license. Riding without a license actually invalidates your insurance, so if they wanted to throw the book at you, then you would be done for riding without a license and without insurance.
Not a good start to your police career methinks!
Oh and {OT} for a second, I'm not as much of an expert on this but I'm not sure that the police like it when you say you /want/ to go into the armed rsponse unit, because I think that they take it that you have an unhealthy interest in guns... Like I said, I'm not an expert but it is what I have heard. Oh and to you for admitting wanting to join the police! {OT} ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

Mark, shouldn't that say invalidates.
I think it's ok to say you want to go into the armed response unit as long as you give a good reason, ie. not oo yea I want to shoot people and stuff. |

I assume you are in the 16 - 18 age bracket hence the reason you are joining as a cadet.
Firstly, (speaking from experience as I was a cadet before I joined the regulars) any indiscretion that you get caught for, whether it be a minor motoring offence or more serious will give them the opportunity to dismiss you without redress. If it is a genuine error or mistake, then they may look at it in a slightly more favourable manner, but if it is blatant and you get caught out then you are out, it is as simple as that.
As far as specializing is concerned, you are looking at a number of years before you can do that. The fact that you are joining as a cadet is still no guarantee that you will be accepted for the regulars, and then you will have your basic training, two years probation and then after that you may be considered if you have a special talent, but usually it is a minimum of 5 years, and then you will have all sorts of tests and checks to see whether you are considered suitable for such a department, and then the training starts all over again and you could fail at any stage.
What force are you joining? Many forces have done away with their cadet force, so you are very lucky. I was in the cadets in the early 70's and I had a ball. Outward bound courses, community service (I did mine in Holland), loads of sport and the like, enjoy it, I had a wonderful two and a bit years. ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

Hey v0dka. I know that Honda NSR's take passengers, as shown in the zimandmike video
But to be able to take passengers on a 125 you have to take a different bike test to your CBT i believe?
i'm sure others will have better answers than me. Just wanted to get some answers going
