Hi guys,

Well I've broken the beast in fully and I wanna derestrict it... But it isn't a UK spec one... D speedo is in Km etc. Its Italian. I am almost sure it isnt d same as nsr125.com. I heard that french ones have a "butterfly valve" Question restrictor. I think mine is valve restricted... So basically has anybody ever had any experience with derestricting the power valve of a 125? How do you do it??

Thanx For your help,

Joey

Hi

Think they are restricted in a similar way, although the exhaust restriction might be further down the pipe.

Some also have a cdi unit restriction it seems, but people who have swapped the cdi units seem to have fried the UK spec ones after a very short time.

All the best

Keith

I haven't had any luck derestricting my Italian NSR so if you get it over 85 tell me how. There are posts on here telling various ideas about import restrictions. I think from what I've heard the options of restriction on european bikes are:

Exhaust - Cut in half and knock out then weld back together.
Power Valve - Dunno
Throttle Cable - Doesn't pull carb the whole way.
Blackbox around ignition - Dunno
CDI - UK version, UK coil and spark-plug cap as well or else it will fry it.
Air Intake - (Maybe only UK)

If other people can correct the list or know of others please do because my knowledge of mechanics extends to nut & bolt.

Hi

The NSR was designed in Italy and most of them were built in Italy. Therefore even the UK models will say Honda Italia on them.

All the best

I still think it's an import because, there was no intake restricter on it(it's a 2002 model btw), there are some air bubbles on me speedo(looks like someones put a mph sticker over the kmh Sad .
i'm so pissed off i cant derestrict it(no mention of import on any of the paperwork).
For anyone buying one, get it from a dealer with a written guarantee that it's uk(got mine private was told it was uk, the lieing fuck Mad ).
