Ive wanted a different set of cans for the Hayabusa for a bit and Ive found these from JCEexhausts that I quite like. I'm wondering what you lot think since Ive never really liked stubby's but seeing these on a bike the same as mine I'm kind of enamoured...

https://www.ukbusas.org/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=30040

Mine currently looks like this...

What do you think? To stubby or not to stubby that is the question!

And next a Blue flame dual port , looks nice and a bit more sporty in my view.

actually the above guy is right. the small exhaust is like a big black man who has a very small penis.

go for a blue flame!

Stubby exhausts are a good way to get pulled and attract attention.

You really think those Police waiting in that layby wont pull you for the sake of it when they hear you coming and then give you a ticket...?

Maybe not right but it's the way it works. Something sporty but 'road-legal' ish seems to be ok if you must change the exhausts. Or why not consider spending all that money on suspension set-up, track days or a holiday? Wink

Ok the original pic has gone so its not much of a comparison anymore!

Quote:

Never been pulled on a bike in 6 years, big exhausts, 160mph etc etc not one yet. Besides if its legal (the rest of my bike is or I wouldnt ride it) and they pull me for that reason they will find themselves in the position as when I was a boy racer - confronted with a cocky (much more intelligent) arsehole who will push them to their own limit and they wont be able to do fuck all about it!! Laughing

Thanks for the opinion Ham, it is quite good coming from you so cheers Thumbs Up

Thing is though, the akro full system would take away my double exhausts and you are looking at manifold, into de-cat and then the can. Thats over 600 notes for an exhaust (which will add a power gain admittedly) but I'm not that serious about it.

As for blue flame, as much as I like it you have to remember that I have to buy 2 of them, they are something like £260 each therefore I will pay big £'s for what could possibly be a loss in power!

Again I apologise for the loss of the original photo!

Thumbs Up

Just doesn't suit the 'busa.

I forgot just how long those bikes are, I think they should be called Suzuki Sausagedogsa's.

they do seem big but once its been there for a while you realise that its not that tall and not that long. Although it made my ninja look like a small childs toy!

Was a black Busa with 2 x Racefit growlers up MFN last year, looked bloody awesome, wouldn't like to think what the wallet looked like after though, if the can itself is quite thin then yes stubby cans will look nice but if it's quite a chunky can then stubbys don't look that good if you go too short.

I Agree, there is a pair of them that go to mfn with the Racefit growlers, Doesnt actually sound too Loud untill he opens it up..
If you have the dollah id say go for the growlers.

Don't like stubbys on a faired bike but I quite like them on a naked bike Confused

A busa is too big/long for stubbys imho.

I personally love stubby's, but then have never owned a faired bike, and would tend to agree with Polarbear - that stubby's look good on unfaired! So perhaps stick with something else.

Thanks for the opinions guys, seems the general opinion is against them. That means I'll have to think on it a bit. The price I can get them for is fantastic and like I said I'm not normally a fan of them but seeing them on my bike has changed my mind.

Quote:

Didnt notice that last night, you'd be surprised at how little these are going to cost me. A track day would be nice but I would be looking at £100 plus getting there and getting back (nearest track is about 2. to 3 hours away from me) and its a one way transaction only. A holiday would be far more expensive than fitting these and again its a one shot no return gig (I am going on one anyway though) and the suspension fiddle is actually quite cheap. These things should only cost me £240 and I can sell them on when I get rid of the bike. Confused

I don't know, I'll keep thinking. Thanks for 'chav' comment G Laughing

£240 Shocked ... I thought the usual trick was to find some you already have lying around or got for £20 on ebay and take a hacksaw to them!

A track day, to me, is a lot more than just the initial experience - it's also an enhancement to your riding for ever on.
Ok, maybe less so when you're doing loads, but that's how I felt when I was first doing them.

I don't doubt that G but Im not an elitist. Ive accepted that Im never going to be the worlds most amazing rider. I feel capable enough to ride at the level I want to on the road. I don't really want to head off to a track with a long journey each way just so I can risk stuffing the Hayabusa into a gravel trap in the search to get my riding to the point where I cant get to work 0.05 seconds faster through the bends!

can't you get blue flame cans for that price?

at the end of the day, it's your bike and you do what you feel comfortable with. none of us are going to ride it.

Nink, stubbying always looks naff to me, and sounds worse too.

I you really must, I'd stick with standard length items, but retaining the twin outlets.
