Hot soapy water on a cloth works for most things.
You could try some dilute bleach.
Some of that vanish oxy liquid might do the trick (it's designed to go in a washing machine anyway). ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

We had this problem, it's due to doing most of our washing at a low temperature which provides perfect mould growing conditions (also leaving the door closed for several weeks whilst on holiday resulted in some interesting lifeforms!).
Solution was to once a month (or more/less frequently depending how often you use your machine) to add some bleach to a ball (the kind you get with Persil washing liquid) and run the machine empty on it's hottest setting for one wash. The bleach won't damage your clothes as the machine will rinse itself through during the cycle but if you're worried just follow it with a normal wash of something like tea towels.
We've found this to keep all the pipes and trim clean and mould free.
Hope that helps!
