It was fucking nuts out, I rode to work from Hornchurch to shoreditch. Normal takes me 30mins, I have done it in 17 once. Took me nearly 1 hour 30 tonight. I dropped the bike coming down a hill, locked the rear because of a stupid gear change and many roads I just simply couldn't get the bike down. There is a good 2 inches of snow outside my office in Shoreditch and it's still snowing heavily. I'm getting the train home. Stay safe.

thats so bloody unfair, why does england get snow and scotland gets sod all!

tonight was bone dry, no wind and about 5c i reckon, went for a wee blast after work ( was around 1am i finished) and was fantastic.

got home and put the news on and england is under loads of snow yet its fine here.

looked out the window just there and there is a good 3 inches thick of snow, hope to god its gone by the time i wake up or i wont be working today

Honestly mate I wouldn't bother, it is far to dangerous. I assume you are going on the A13? It was tretourous as hell last night and it would have only got busier and worse over night. Stay at home. The 15 miles of my commute took me 1.30 in better conditions than it is now.

just got a phonecall to say Im working from home, yay \0/.

i was riding round last nite and managed to drop my ped at 5mph outside my drive, with all the snow I failed to recognise my drive when I did i hit the brake too hard and weeeeeeee down the road I went, no damage to myself or the ped i thought it was funny in fact.

Got the bike out okay, wheeled it onto the drive, warmed it up, got my gear on as usual - went to sit on it and turned the bars to feel what it was like under the tyre - it felt like I was sitting on ice.

I'd most likely stack it before I left my road, riding skills or not, I can't make the bike grip when riding on ice. For the first time ever, my Diablos have failed me (probably turning to slicks with the treads filled with snow).

One of my neighbours has already managed to slide into two parked vehicles by driving too quickly - bloody Audi drivers.

Oh well, waiting to hear what's happening at work now. I'm the only biker, the trains are closed and no one else has made it in yet.

20 minutes of trying to get my SM to work failed as I live in a very slight slope. Dunlop tryes are uselss and there's ice underneath all that snow.

Trains and busses stopped too.

Absolutely. Heavy snow and motorbikes do not mix well. Only go out if you really have to and are completely resigned to the fact that you WILL drop it. I’ve ridden in snow several times over the years and never enjoyed it. Slippery as fuck and the snow builds up on your visor or blinds you when you open it.

Because they were predicting this last week I made sure I nicked one of the vans from work ready for this morning. Of course, this now means that I don’t have an excuse to stay at home. My drive to work will be on largely flat, well treated roads, but there’s no way I’d ever take the bike. I’ve just been for a wander about outside and the main road is still coated in thick slippery slush.

Stay at home unless you have access to three or more wheels. It’s still snowing hard here

Well I'm writing this from my desk, 30 miles later! The main roads weren't too bad, I took the A127 and A12. No filtering whatsoever because the middle of the dual carriageway was slushy as hell. The car park here on the other hand was a nightmare. I don't know how the hell I'm going to get out again!

I had a 8.30am meeting this morning but the 6" of snow outside my house in North London put paid to that!! I did however see 2 motorbikes this morning on the Finchley Road...braver (or madder) souls then me!!

Yesterday I went for a ride in the early afternoon when there were clear skies.. Left the bike outside, locked, but uncovered.. went inside and didn't look out the window until 8pm.. Bike covered in snow. Thought to myself screw it, its got snow on it now, might aswell not bother covering it for the night.. Now I don't think I could even get it moving out the snow
