R6 Cup boys.
I'm with the Production company that produced Natural Born Racers for Bravo last year. We're trying to get some feedback on the show for the enxt series, and as the season is already under way, we need to know sooner rather thatn later before we start editing...

Last year's efforts...
Good, bad, indifferent...did you even know the show existed?
What would you like to see more of?
What worked for you and what didn't?
The Scrutineer...good idea? More please? Get rid of it?
Let us know what you think...
Cheers

I watched it once or twice out of luck really, knightrider being the luck Wink Razz I don't remember seeing advertisements for it?!

I liked the fact it folllowed the riders round before and after the races etc not just a show about the races. I'd like to see women in the cup but Rolling Eyes oh well. Some of the general goofing around was good to watch but some of them were annoying.

The best way you could improve it for me the viewer is to offer me a free place in the cup and i'll happily watch.

James

What he said Razz

Nah, honestly I didn't see it, only just got Sky. But I'll keep an eye out for the new series and give it a look. Maybe then I'll be able to comment for the third series... but good things would be:

Rider chats
General bike goofing
Good footage - fed up with directors who think they'll get clever with cuts at quick repeats to 'fit' in with music... For an example that program 'Ouch That Must Have Hurt!' - pants!!!

Will never complain at obvious showing of women of course Razz

Oh I can't stress enough about that thing with directors and camera cuts - quickest way to get me to turn over, no matter what the program is about!

Ooh - more of the same please! I loved the last series + to be honest the R6 cup is the only reason I watch the British Superbikes, so the extra footage and background info is great!

Hi
I think I may have seen your show, it was good as far as I can remember, though I prefer scratching on men and motors (sorry Embarassed ) but thats more ammaturish and they follow people right down to the ammature racing, ffirst timers etc.

Yeah the R6 cup's great you should stick with it, its good to have extra footage Very Happy.

I watched it and thought it was pretty good stuff.

I wouldn't say it was compulsive viewing but some of the 'Dad Arguments' were pretty funny.

Personally I could have done without the 'extreme' behind the scenes stuff such as Haggis throwing, Assault Courses and Fashion Design to name a few but all in all it was a pretty watchable show.

So to answer your questions...

1. Good
2. More racing and maybe the logistics of getting all the machinery to and from each individual race circuit, set ups, etc.
3. What worked - the general watchability of the show -
What didn't - semi naked blokes posing for the camera Confused (although apparently that bit worked for my wife!)
4. Scrutineer - basic Q and A bit? Yeah that was fine.

I was actually watching the race on Sky a couple of weeks ago and even my wife remembered a few of the riders from last year (again i think the semi naked bit jogged her memory!) and as she's not really into the biking scene at all you must be doing something right.

Be nice to see it advertised though (as mentioned above) as I can't recall ever spotting a trailer for it.

Good Luck with the new series

I can put up with semi-naked blokes, if it means my missus doesn't complain at the screen being adorned by semi-naked girls Wink

I watched the R6 cup at oulton park and to be honest theres only about half the riders that were taking the race seriously, a lot of them were lifting the front wheel at every given opportunity, not a good racing technique really. Confused

I dunno Shaun, personally I'd put that down to over-eagerness and the competitive nature. I quite enjoyed the Oulton race, nice close racing.

Cheers guys, keep em coming.
Frankly I was amazed this wasn't a more popular show in general. I was NEVER into bikes originally. More of a cars man (Ooooh, I can hear the hissing, and its not from air brakes either). HOWEVER, since working on this show I have become religiously obsessed with all things bike.

Thing that always got me about F1 coverage is you have no idea where these guys come from, How do they get there? That's what I LOVE about working on this show. You actually see the embryonic stages of these guys careers. From kids on motocross and CLub racing, to the "star" level. Not to take away from their past achievments, but the R6 is the training 11 between Vauxhall conference Arsenal or Man U. You are watching that jump day by day, how they deal with it, how they respond to it and so on, and if you consider how TOmmy Hill has gone from "R6 amateurs" to the lead Yamaha in the BSB circuit in JUST ONE YEAR...I mean christ what a journey, and we get to be there front row for the whole thing...its not like a mystery any more...there it is, the process, the learning, the skill all being developed right there for us to watch.

Sorry...getting v excited by this.

Keep the feedback coming guys, its really helpful and thanks!

To get into it you need a lot of money upfront, so I suspect that some of the people aren't in it so much as serious competitors as for an 'easy' racing exerience.

I haven't see this program, but have seen another one that follows some rookie racers in their first season.

This sort of thing definitely does interest me as I was supposed to be starting some rookie racing this year until it all went wrong.

Generally interested in the people and the problems they have, the bodges they have to do etc. And of course the racing... how about some onboard footage if you don't already do it?

Great idea, we're working on those logisitcs, but as I am sure you are aware, budgets in this business (like bike racing actually) are always tight, so its a question of resource allocation.
This is a definite possibility, but no decision has been made just yet.
Ta, Keep em coming
