Opinions on this post test bike

Well asking on behalf of a mate,
hes had a couple of small bikes all under 125cc
and as soon as hes done his test hes going to get a Bandit 1200,
What is everyone else's opinions on this, is it a wise move or not?

bandit 12 is a esay bike to ride depends how much self controle he has if i was him i would start with a 250 400 or 600 maybe a 650 first one of the big isues will be the whate of the thing there heavy wouldnt want to pic mine up after droping it hope that helps

Insurance might be a stinger. Everyone allways seems to want the biggest bikes as soon as possible when they start riding. it's a shame as there are loads of great bikes inbetween 125s and 1200s. If you do a lot of motorway riding then anything over 600cc copes better, unless you don't mind sticking at 60 - 70 all day. for around town though - give me a 400 anyday.

As standard they are a pretty lazy bike. 100bhp or so.

Can be tuned to produce silly power with a bit of work as Kickstart's bike proves.

Its a pure top trumps thing, but to be honest it could be worse.

Matthie has plenty of experience on bigger bikes anyway so he should be fine.

As much as I'd like to say "Noo he'll die!!" on it, he probably won't.

I know some guy who only rode a 50 - did his test on the 500 and jumped on a bandit 1200 right away.
He got on fine, but the weight come as a shock and droped it the same day. It was in mint condition too.

there a bit top heavy at times but you get used to that (on a much more important note! i fjust found the pistachio nut i droped on the floor a week ago SCORE!!)

Bandit 12 isn't big enough. Think he will need a Rocket III or Boss Hoss. Should be a doddle, and still quite light (the boss hoss is only 590kg)
