2 miles of backstreets, both feet on the floor, shopping bag on each wrist, the front wheel mostly unrotating!

There was so little traction that when I pushed it out of the parking bay, the bike moved but the front wheel didn't turn.

I wobbled out of the estate with my feet on the deck and the bars randomly, uselessly slithering from side to side.

Set the idle to 2000rpm and didn't use the throttle. All in all a challenging ride, but ultimately I can't see how it could have ended up in a problem... Both feet on the deck and resist the urge to pick them up, 10mph or less, and voila! Safety.

The only way the wheel would not rotate, if free, would be if it was sheet ice, and then you would not be able to stand up, also the rear would simply spin......

My money is on calipers binding.

Snow that has frozen has a large amount of grip. Thumbs Up

Nope, the calipers are not binding, and the front wheel even has (by my judgement) a lower then average amount of friction in the axle/bearings.

Elements of the slush were so compacted and slippy I guess... The slightest turning of the bars and it would ski instead of rotate.

Id of been more inclined to walk, Than risk binning my bike.

If you had of been going more than 10mph, Then it would of been worth taking the bike. But for a 10mph ride to the shops, I'd rather walk it. Confused

I went out on the pit bike today, Front wheel didnt skid at all, It rolled fine, Rear wheel didn't grip what so ever though. Although I am running an incredibly torquy 150 engine with Dunlop B02 road tyres front and rear. Very twitchy on the snow and ice. Laughing
