Quotes are falling one of two ways:

(bearing in mind the bike is worth around £1500 and is for TPFT)

1) £175 with compulsory excess of £100 (Carole Nash)

2) £135 with compulsory excess of £450 (Nearly all other quotes)

Which would you go for?

In the grand scheme of things, and probably to a lot of us on here, thats not a substantial amount for either quote! You may as well have a £40 punt on the chance of paying less excess Thumbs Up At those kind of prices you should be looking at whats the best package as apposed to sometimes when you are younger and have to take the cheapest. i'd go 2, your bike won't be worth much to an insurer.

is it a theives favourite? is it likely to get nicked.

would you get the money back if you broke it?

Does Carol Nash offer more than the others?

Many insurers dont include breakdown cover, legal cover etc so it may soon add up to be the same.

Very simple.

If your bike is stolen do you have £450 to go towards buying another one? Are things so tight that £40 is going to make a difference?

For me £40 or £3.33 per month, is very little compared to the hassle if things go wrong. Then again I can't be arsed with messing about and have fully comp with zero excess.

Option one.

Sure you'll save £40 if you don't claim, but you'll save £350 if you do claim.

To me it's a no brainer.

I had the exact same question a month ago, I went with the smaller excess, £450 is 30% of your bikes value so any payment will be quite a chunk less than the bikes actually worth.

I take its is zero voluntary excess, but you will still have the £100 ish compulsory excess.

OP, go for the best overall deal.

£450 is a lot of money to lose, ands unless you have got that stashed away. The £40 saving is not really worth it.

Carole Nash mate!

It was a terrible shame I couldn't remain one of their customers, but H&R quoted me just 420 on the blade, which is the same as what carole nash quoted me for the 6R (but you do get european cover, euro breakdown, roadside/relay/homestart/personal injury and legal cover as standard and they're very helpful).
