Just got two new tyres today,nightmare coming home in the snow.My question is how slidey are new shoes on corners on a dry road ,if at all.

Not particularly once the initial middle bit's scrubbed off, just make sure you lean progressively more, rather than going for normal levels straight off, so you always have a little bit of scrubbed in tyre in the contact patch. Watch out for the fact the bike will want to tip in much quicker cos of the more round profiles and if your particularly worried, hang off loads. You'll be surprised how upright you can take the bike round corners at normal speeds if you get your entire body off one side (NB you look like a massive cock while doing this.)

I've never oud you need to slow much with new tyres on, I take it stead for the first couple of miles then they seem fine. I had my rear with no chicken strips after only about 20 miles on my last change.
