I posted this in the Scottish section, but thought I'd repost here to give everyone a good laugh ... we all need it in this world Thumbs Up

As you all know my beloved 14 has been off the road for a while ... needed new shocks, chain/sprockets and the alloy oil line fittings were corroded and split ... that and I wanted to put the new gearbox in (jumped out of second).

Baby lay outside for a good while before I put her in the garage ... charged battery the other night and slapped it on the 14 today ... about a minute of turning over and away she went ... first time in about 6 months.

God I forgotten how deep the exhaust note was ... she was sitting in one corner so the exhausts were near the wall ... my whole body was vibrating due to the exhaust ... fanbloodytastic Twisted Evil

Anyhoo, left her running for five minutes with occasional revs then thought that was enough .......

so revved her up one last time ........

wait for it .............

Yep you've guessed it, the feed oil line alloy fitting to the rad decided to let go ... then followed the jet of oil from the front of the garage to the back of it!!

Second or so of OH SHIT then hit the kill switch ... not fast enough to stop oil going all over the GSXR and partly over the ZXR ... onto my bench as well (unprotected chipboard might be gubbed) Laughing

So that's what I get for neglecting my baby ... be nice to your babies everyone or they might bite back Karma

That's brilliant how it actually took aim and fired itself all over the SRAD...sounds like the makings of a bad porn movie Laughing

Wotcha.

Ah - all good fun.

My Enfield Bullet decided that the oil return would be better routed externally, so it promptly broke the return pipe. Embarassed

It's amazing how a little oil goes a long way Wink

It's been sick

Still in my head sadly ... know what I want to do just not done it ... new one off subframe and shock mounted above swingarm so as to allow exhaust system to come up through swingarm for an underseat system ... far better than those ugly high level cans and link pipes on a Mk1 B12.

Nice to see you still about ... oh, also got a Mk2 B12 as well now Smile

^^^ Basically a standard bike which has just been given the black paint job and a race can ... was done a year after first registration (96' model SRAD) ... it's not even got braided lines!!

Just got it on Monday, needs new tyres which have been ordered, so will hopefully get out on it at the weekend ... only my second sports bike, prefer my big naked muscle bikes ... aka B12 (Mk1 and Mk2) and GSX14 Thumbs Up

Black always looks good Very Happy

Glad everyone is having a good laugh ... I did myself ... wish I'd captured it on video, it's was class Laughing

Nice. You always had big plans for it, shame they haven't come to fruition (yet!!). I thought it looked impressive the time I seen it, should document the project - be one of the better one's on here. Thumbs Up

Can see why you like the mk1 & 2's. Got myself an mk1 12 and the engine is a corker. Slapping on the OEM can though as the race can on it has borked the fuelling completely. When I have the money, I'll get a dynojet kit fitted me thinks.

It's been covered in a whole lot of oil. Really makes it look stunning.
