One of the ugliest bikes I've seen and without the exhaust noise probably the worst sounding. Don't think I'll get one...

Plenty of people are converting normal 'Internal Combustion Engine' bikes into electric, often keeping them looking exactly the same.
Presumably the company making these wants something to differentiate them and make people talk about theirs

"Mission motorcycles' induction motor provides over 100 foot-pounds of torque. Unlike an engine, however, the torque curve on our electric is completely flat. The rider feels 100 foot-pounds of torque at a standstill, at 60 mph, and everywhere in between".......

"Torque: 100 lb-ft @ 0 to 6,500 rpm"

"Transmission: Single speed"

I assume that's not 100 lb-ft at the wheel.

Contradictory? Yes, unless the motor runs at 6500RPM all the time and a variator transfers the power to the rear wheel.

Eh, what you describe would be effectively an infinite speed transmission - the variator you describe can change the engine speed to any possible road speed within it's limits.

While their transmission directly matches the engine speed and road speed, so only has a 'single speed' in the transmission - like if you were stuck in first gear, say.

But it produces 100 lb-ft @ 6500RPM. Surely that should read it produces 100lb-ft @ ANY RPM from RPMmin - RPMmax.

At which point above 0 RPM does it produce 100lb-ft? Perhaps .0001 RPM Confused

Being electric, it should be able to produce that at 0rpm - it can still exert a 100ft-lb torque without turning.
Starting to do a burnout I hold the front brake on. Initially the rear wheel does not move as I slip the clutch, however a force is still being exerted to the tarmac from the at that point stationary rear wheel.

I can't see electric bikes taking off though, i think hydrogen powered motorbikes are the way to go.

Hydrogen electric, I presume you mean, rather than using hydrogen for combustion?
If so, it's basically just an electric bike with a different type of battery.

Something like this is more interesting, to me:

Though not sure of their choice of a hub motor in that case.

Not sure they are dangerous, only hazard is to those pedestrians that don't look when they walk into the road and IMO people like that need to take themselves out of the gene-pool. Laughing

A lot of cars these days only have noticable 'road noise' rather than engine noise.
