Hi All
I have just bought this bike for my son as a suprise for his 18th. When i got it, it was in a sorry state so decided to strip down and do it up. Carb have been cleaned, plug replaced and valve gaps set. It idles good now but when i rev it the engine makes a clatter noise coming from middle to bottom of engine. Not sure how quiet these engines are??
Decided to give it an oil change. Taken of left casing to get access to centrifugal filter but need tool to remove any ideas how to make 1?
It also has the CDI but cant see how you can adjust the timing if it requires it. This is really bugging me. Surely you must be able to adjust it but all searches on google have turned a blank |

They all rattle a bit, don't worry too much about it, check the exhaust isn't leaking at the head, though.
You can cut down a socket to make the special tool, even better if you can find a bit of solid tubing the right size. then you'll be annoyed because it's taken you a long time and they are actually quite cheap from Honda. Also, I'm not entirely sure you need to remove the filter to clean it, If I remember right you only need to take it off to do the clutch. Further, it's unlikely it actually needs cleaning, there's a secondary filter that you clean out behind a round plate on the LHS - the older ones had a gauze filter.
Finally, no adjustment on the cdi timing. You should be happy it's one thing that won't go wrong

If it's drilled, it's a drain hole for condensation. If it's like a huge rusty raggety gash, you know what that is
