Warning over 'surveillance state'

Lord Norton: "We are a world leader in surveillance"

Electronic surveillance and collection of personal data are "pervasive" in British society and threaten to undermine democracy, peers have warned.

They're accidently being intrusive cvnts.

Phil Woolas, the immigration minister, defended the plans. “The UK has one of the toughest borders in the world and we are determined to ensure it stays that way. Our high-tech electronic borders system will allow us to count all passengers in and out and targets those who aren’t willing to play by our rules.”

Ok, that's laughable. One of the toughest borders in the world? I'd say we've probably got about the slackest borders in the entire world, endless illegals get in and are set free by the authorities themselves and there's no trace of how many, we let in criminals and all sorts. USA on the other hand is strict, be interested to know if the USA actually already tracks the movements of every of US citizen in and out of the country?

It does just sound like yet another way to start nailing people for everything other than national security, why tie it into benefit agency checks? Sounds more like something to do with the recent proposal to prevent fathers who are behind on child maintenance payments from traveling abroad and the like.

Who the hell has the right to keep a record of where I go on holiday, who i go with, my phone numbers and credit card details?

But the UK's not a nazi toilet. Oh no. It's a cradle of freedom and democracy.

Nothing to hide, nothing to fear. So long as you agree with anything and everything the govt dictates.

THE government is building a secret database to track and hold the international travel records of all 60m Britons.

Its needed for such things as:

Quote:
MPs warned today against rationing foreign travel to tackle climate change.

They spoke out after Lord Turner, chairman of the Government-appointed climate change committee, raised fears that a cap could be put on foreign holidays. “We will have to constrain demand in an absolute sense, with people not allowed to make as many journeys as they could in an unconstrained manner,” he said.

Thumbs Up
