I had a set of these (2 piece) when I first got my bike - the blue and white ones (guess which sort of bike it was).
Overall they are OK, not great, but they are cheap. Leather is quite thin, and compared to my RST suit I have now, not as soft/flexible. Certainly restricted my movement more than the current suit.
Had a slow speed spill in them, lowsided at 30mph, leather held up fine, but the stitching came away. Dunno how I would feel about them in a higher speed crash.
The shins are very thick, which makes them difficult and uncomfortable to fit inside boots, and impossible to fit over the top (although god knows why you woudl want to do so).
Overall, they are very cheap, for a reason. I would not recommend them unless you really cannot afford anything else and must have new.
Much, much better off buying a second hand suit on fleabay of a better make. You could even do what G does, which is buy a second hand, good brand suit a couple of sizes too big, then have a specialist tailor it to your body, hey presto, one very cheap, high quality custom fitted suit. Awesome idea, and what I will be doing next time. |
