About a month back a white van cut me up on a round about, i went into the side of him luckley not coming off. Anyway there was minor damage (bent mirror, bent handlebar crash bobben), i also noticed one of the front disk brakes was squeaky. The brakes were squeaky before but not as bad. Later one of my motorcycling buddy with more experience noticed the squeak and said he though he saw one of the disks had a buldge in it after wheeling the bike around abit. I am nt sure what i should do it seems to operate normally.
My bike is a 2006 Honda Hornet 600.

Can this happen, if so how can i be sure and how can i fixed it.

Vince

Take the front wheel off , then take the disc off , then put the disc on a piece of glass, you can see if it is warped or not, if its warped badly then you need to replace them...

Far easier to just clamp a dial indicator to the fork leg..

True but thats if you have a dial indicator , which I don't and the £40 for one could probably be better put towards the discs

You have a dial indicator, in fact two ... your eyes.

Removed the calipers and get the front end of the bike off the deck, then spin the wheel (not too fast) and look at the top edge of the disc next to the fork leg ... if it bent then you'll see if move in and out in relation to the fork leg.

Chances are if it is slightly off that part of the alloy carrier is slightly pushed in ... you can bend it back slightly if you take your time and you feel safe doing it.

Had this on my accident damaged GSX1400 when I got it ... 10 minutes later disc was trued up and went on to do 30k miles before replacement Thumbs Up
