Do people actually bother checking the calendar / outings and excursions frequently enough that a spur of the moment decision to go play somewhere should be posted?

If someone's a newbie to an area, should they be 'adopted' by someone who'll give them a ring when people are playing nearby or help them find their way there?

Or should we just leave it be?

Do the majority of you actually *want* to go out and meet people and play about, or are you happy just reading a forum and keeping your life mostly untainted by BCF?

Your thoughts please.

I have been around for years but yet never met anyone for meets and such.

Mainly because of the lack of regulars in my area plus i go out with my dad and some friends mostly.

Would be nice to meet up with some members one day though. If i could ever find my way to cadwell then maybe i will see some of you there in the summer.

Come to Stockley Park on Friday or Boxhill on Sunday.

Goose used to come from Watford down to Box (Surrey) on his 50cc ped, so that's no excuse. Craig would ride his NSR all the way from Southampton for a BCF day at Boxhill.

I feel you should give people the option to join in, unless of course you want to do something on your 'own' etc. Putting up an invitation thread about something like that is entirely up to you but to even ask the question you must know that it's a forum meet so all are invited surely?

Confusing question methinks Question

I haven't even managed to get to Bassetts Pole this year and it's only about 2 miles from my house. I will try and get out and meet some of you this year, probably be the Midlanders first. I didn't have a bike for most of last year, Feb to November, waiting for a bunch of thick w*nkers at an insurance company. This year with the impending birth I might not be able to do too much riding for the first couple of months or so. As a new man Shocked I will be parenting as much as the wifey!

I would like to Go to more meets, Just that I tend to get lost easy!

That is why I would go to more meets if someone would ride with me!

Boxhill is nice and near (Sorta.) So I can meet people there.

And reading and Berkshire are near so I can come to more that end!

I've been here a while and only met v4forlife and danny (well said hello at least). It would be cool to meet more of you one day. Maybe next time I'm in the uk I should put a day aside Very Happy

But yeah, like summy said I didn't meet many because there wern't many in my area. I gues I could have travelled a bit, but tbh I didn't really feal confident to travel far on my own. And knowing my luck I would have killed the ol CeeBee 100 miles from home rather than round the corner if I went to more meets.

I just meant that not everyone is necessarily looking to meet up, some folk may be quite happy just reading a forum and have no desire whatsoever to actually meet anyone in real life.

mike106 - it's near Dorking, not far off the M25 though you can get there without using the motorway just as easily. People meet there fairly often, just watch the O&E forum.

Hi

Maybe we could have a small pop window on screen to post a "we are going out" message or 2. Limited number of people to update it and only a very short message (such as "look at this thread for more details").

Failing that, how about we persuade Korn to set up a service on here to send text messages, and then we can automate text message invites.

All the best

Keith

I'm up for getting involved. I'd have been at Kev and Jo's party, but couldn't convince my fiancee that it was a good idea at the time, and I couldn't make the trip down on my bike alone - I'd have got lost...

But I will come to something and be available for general mick taking when I arrive Wink

Yes we will rip your arms off and drink your blood once we have got you on a small country back road
No, we will buy you ice cream.

One problem is that most times we go out to play it's fairly spontaneous... unless you're bored and hanging around BCF on a Saturday afternoon as we are, you're unlikely to notice.

Also, I feel some improvements to the map could be in order.

For instance an option to see all the people on the map... so you can see the people close-ish to you.*

Add in the option to add meeting places, events etc to the map so you can see how far away a meet is from you. Then you could even have a customised caledar on the front page that could say show all the things that are happening, say within 50 miles of you, with a higher priority.

*as I've posted before, but shall repeat here:
I was thinking something along the lines of each pixel/small section being a different colour depending on how many people are within a certain distance of it. Then when your mouse is hovering over an area it brings up in a seperate section a display showing you all the people in that area.
