Laughing Hello I’m looking for some help with my rvg 125 fun engine problem .it has blown a few spark plugs in its time. I came to it yesterday to find it won’t start at all. After a hour of messing with it I got it to run for 20 seconds max but it kept conking out, there is a good spark and it is getting fuel and oil fine .also the air filter is clear, it’s got me stumped at the moment any help with this would be great Thumbs Up Shocked

How many miles on it? COuld be due a rebuild.

When it was running ok, was the powerband getting narrower?

Also try draining the carb, could have some water in.

Can I have your wheels?

A rebuild involves getting the cylinder head and barrel off, and changing the small end bearing, piston and rings. Sometimes just the rings, but generally both. Costs about 60 quid and a days work if you do it yourself and use a decent pattern piston, more like 100+ if you use a genuine piston.

At 17000 miles if it hasn't had a rebuild yet its probably due. Where in the country do you live?

Get the compression tested, should be over 120 PSI.
