So i got suckered in to the DFS "sale". Sofa bought and paid for and delivery arranged for next friday ( my day off ). Yesterday I recieved a call telling me they could now only deliver today in the morning or not for 4 weeks.

So im sat here in the afternoon with no sofa. Yep its not here yet and ive now had to take the whole day off unpaid. After speaking to the bint on the fone if its not here by 5pm they will have to deliver it another day. I swear they do it on prupose.

If its not here by 5pm im going to the store and unleashing some rage.

*end of rant*

I don't understand why anybody would risk buying a sofa at the moment, have you seen how many sofa companies have gone under? Shocked

Lets hope you get the right sofa. My friend didn't!

In early March 2008, we purchased a chocolate-coloured fabric 3 seater manual recliner sofa from DFS sofas in Glasgow, and were told that the delivery would be in about 12 weeks or so.

Thank you for that icey, I shall be printing it off. They have offered me "loan furniture" untill mine arrives. I dont want loan furniture. I want mine!

The drivers said a similar thing to me as they did your mate. I refused to sign the paperwork and the left swearing and muttering.

Why have you paid for it in advance and not had it on 0%?

We've just ordered a sofa of them as well, delivery in 7 weeks, 4 years interest free.

It's better in my bank earning me (not a lot these days) interest than in their bank earning them interest. Thumbs Up

To earn an extra seven weeks' worth of interest on the cash perhaps... though with interest rates as they are it's hardly worth it.

I bought mine from Ikea. It had to be small to fit in my bedroom but it's bloody comfy too and was only about £170. Very Happy

We got ours from ikea. We spent weeks looking at sofa's and being told we had to wait upto 2 months and got pissed off with it all.
We drove upto ikea, found one we liked, checked the packaged size and decided it would just fit in the car.
It did, but only just and i couldn't shut the hatchback.

On the flip side, my experience with DFS was pretty painless. My only grumble was the sales girl banging on about taking out some sort of fabric protection but she was fit so I let her go through her speech while I stared at her tits.

Sofa turned up 12 weeks after ordering (standard delivery time from China) and the delivery guys were considerate enough to take their shoes off at the door as not to make a mess of the carpet...

Can't really fault them, but I consider myself lucky Karma

Well, just got back from DFS. Managed to wrangle a MUCH better deal!
Got loan furniture ( 3 piece reliners set) untill my sofa arrives, and got my sofa upgraded to a sofa bed for no extra charge.
I made a bit of noise in the shop and asked to see the manager and hopefully its all sorted now!
The reason I didnt want to get the credit is simple. I dont like owing money. Ive saved enough to buy a sofa so thats what im spending it on!
