Hello. What sports bike(s) would be best for some one on R's. Thanks

Ps. I was thinking an rs125 unrestricted, which is 33 bhp or there abouts.

Pss. It must be a new bike as i need to take it out on finance. Prices around £3700-£4000 tops! I could get an rs 125 for that but do you guys think i could get something much better?

You can still get finance on a 2nd hand bike.

Hmmm.... *me sucks through teeth*, I could sell you my VFR400 for £3500ish if you caught me in the right mood. A restrictor kit would only cost you a couple hundred quid on top of that so you'd be well within budget Wink

I'd recommend getting a 4-stroke and having it restricted rather than getting an rs125 purely for the reliability and economy advantage.

look in Autotrader and see the bikes around the £3k mark, every one of them will be able to have a restrictor fitted.

Okay. But i dont want a bike that is like a tank to pull because i've taken all the BHP from it. Will a bigger bike retstricted to 33bhp still be alot more powerfull than an rs125 at the same bhp?

RS125 is capable of making about 30bhp, but you'd really need to be wringing its nuts to get at it.

And conversely, a bit bike restricted down to 33bhp would be making that practically off tickover, and feel like a tank. Without an engine.

Go 4 stroke, go small. If you really want to do 33bhp, there are numerous cheap 33bhp bikes - SG350 Goose, SRX400, Bros 400. Any of the older 250cc 4 stroke bikes will be sub 33bhp and still ok to ride, or a 500cc twin would take the 33bhp restriction quite nicely.

You may not be able to get finance on a secondhand bike, but you can get a loan. Or you could buy a bike you can afford and put the money towards your next bike. In fact i've probably paid less for most of my bikes than you'd pay as your deposit on a 4k finance deal.
