Im taking it to relieve pain from a tooth abcess, and i must say its really rather good.
Its now just a dull ache, and ive got that lovely chilled out, ever so slightly stoned feeling.

Enjoy it whiles it lasts! Thumbs Up

Even in copious amounts it's doing nothing for my back or my mind after 16 months. Time for a visit to my GP. Crying or Very sad

I once had a thing with a chick with a serious codeine habit. As she tried to come off it she went 100% turkey and shat in her white trousers whilst we were in the pub. Total fyck up and pain in the anus although she gave the most delightful hand job I ever experienced. She did have funny nipples but I do not think they were drug related.

I got a load of codeine when I broke myself a couple years back. It's good at first but the more you take quickly gets much less effective, enjoy it while it lasts Wink

oh, yeah, does that come under the name of co-codamol, maybe?

Been wankered on that a couple of times, when I had my dodgy arm/shoulder problem last year
(which still gives me the odd twinge, I notice it a bit more lately than it has for the last nine months Sad rather annoyed I gave my mum that Uddermint stuff. Must buy some more ... )

It is rather good.

My shyty pants ex lover needed to score hers from a Dr (mine, very embarrassing to ask your Dr to fix your crazy crapping hate filled wanc expert up with opiates.). I imagine the Boots stuff will not be strong enough to put a monkey on your back over the weekend.

Its not super strong stuff, but drugs (ahem.. Whistle ) tend to affect me quite well these days. Also i've not really been eating for the past couple of days, so maybe thats 'helping' things along..

I had an operation on my back a few years ago, and the codeine they gave me then used to totally knock me out, wouldnt mind some of that now actually, as the pain is starting to make me sweat again. Sad

Didn't think you could buy codene over the counter? I know you can get co-codamol (sp) which is codene and paracetomol.

I'm on tramadol and it gets rid of some of the pain but doesn't do anything to my head anymore, infact i don't think oral tramadol ever has. IV tamadol and morphine however, and bloody great Very Happy

I must once again complain about morphine and will do so here. Its shit! I was told after they gave me it when asking for something stronger after child birth as the contractions where still present after baby was born and I was sliced open! They gave me it a further few times via injection and it was useless. Made me drowsy that was it. Neutral They didnt give me dihydracodine but offered it.

Every time i have had morphine i have been away with the pixies aswell. Oramorph (they squirt it into your mouth and you swallow it) is quite rubbish, tastes foul aswell.

ProvectusIncurro - Just give me it neat! Laughing

My dad in-law takes morphine daily (60mg i think) and has been for about 3 years. It knocks him out for an hour every time.Has to take it morning and night the poor twat.

For normal tooth ache i found tylex works really well.

I'm guessing thats oramorph. I was allowed 10mg whenever i wanted it, that was while i was getting 100mg (iirc) of IV tramadol. It tastes foul, doesn't give you the funky head screwup and isn't as affective as oral tramadol (i found)

I need to go upto the GP soon (probably when i have got through these 100 tramadol caps Razz ) and get something different, and something that will actually get rid of all my pain (which recently is a lot worse considering i sprained my knee on the ice on wednesday Crying or Very sad )

ProvectusIncurro - Fancy 'borrowing' something from your ambulance's meds cabinet and sending me it? Wink Very Happy

1) We dont give oramorph as a tasty snack while we patch you up... Laughing taste is secondary to function in the analgesic world.

2) Neat.... if you say so!

Fancy filling out all my paperwork for it? Shocked

You would not beleive the amount of paperwork we have to do for administering a drug!

I'd happily fill out the paperwork for some happy juice (as i used to call it when i was spazzed out on drugs Laughing ) Very Happy Very Happy

Just out of curiousity, what do they use as a 'long term' sedative? (ie - around 8-9 days)

I don't know, were not allowed to sedate someone so never taught what to use and what route.

***Joint Resus Council guidelines have hinted at either Etomidate or Midazolam***

Aaahhhh it could of been Midazolam, i remember one of the nurses mentioning a drug with a name similar to that (or the same, can't remember exactly) when i was yapping her to while she was reading my (big) wad of notes.

Whatever it was, i WANT some again.....it gives you the maddest trips ever when you have come off it and its still in your system. With the added ingredient of morphine etc aswell it is absolutley brilliant.

Imagine being in a cardboard house that can move around, change shape while loads of weird people are torturing you Laughing

Another thing i remember was the little 'light sensor' thing they stick on your finger (to measure your bp, hr etc). Well because i kept pulling it off my finger, the nurse told me it was a game and if i wanted to play the game i had to leave it on my finger. Well suprisingly enough, i didn't want to play the game Laughing So they put it on my toe, somehow i imagined that they had tied a bit of string around my toe and they had tied it to the back of a bike. The bike set off and ripped my toe off Shocked Laughing

*goes off to look for uni courses on med's* Very Happy

Sounds like you had a wail of a time on the midazolam and morphine! The Clip thing your talking about measures the oxygen levels in your blood... you can get it trace lines for your heart rate aswell... really good for keeping kids amused in the back of an ambulance Laughing

I have had morphine via an epidural and it never really killed the pain, just made me feel spaced out and tramadol was never any good to me either.

I suffer terribly when i have to go into hospital for any surgery.

Was that while she still had shart herself or did the have the decency to clean herself up first??
