Great (and not so great) members of BCF i need a favour, I am driving myself mad looking for bikes and dont seem to be having much luck so call on your searching skills to help....

I am after an 04-06 R1 preferably in blue but not a definite. Dont want to spend too much and dont mind a slightly scruffy one. Probably looking nice 04 or newer one with some damage.

Any good finds will be greatly appreciated

Jonny

Id like to get one for £4k ish...hence the slightly scruffy or desperate seller. The cheapest i have seen is around 4.2 -4.4 which means £4k is achievable with some good bartering...

if you look on the same site- pistonheads.com

there was an 04 plate r1 with low miles that just sold for like 3600 i think, u gotta be quick with these things!

and i need a go for finding it! Laughing

that is a good site for buying bikes though, see some good deals on there, much cheaper than the likes of ebay like Thumbs Up

I just really really want an R1 and dont particularly want my car anymore.

The Ducati is awesome buts its no commuter. Planning on keeping that and using the R1 for ragging/commuting etc etc Ducati can keep for the good days.

I'm pretty sure i can manage a summer without a bike and sell one of them for a car at the end of the year

..........thats the plan anyway..............

You know full well that a '98 R1 is the one to go for. Colin Wall could stumble in here at any moment to explain why.

I love the idea of an R1 "just as a commuter". Whereas some of the people on this forum would kill off their families to get their hands on an R1. Laughing

I would guess that you were a rich prick, but then you said you don't mind if it's scruffy, so now I know you are just eccentric. Happy hunting nutjob.
