Won't get a good quality new one for that price, that I'm aware of, if you want to use it on solid-rivet chains.
Not far off three times the price these days I think.
Can get some ok ones that do hollow-rivet ends, but less convinced about how good they are at chain breaking (which, to be fair, a £10 angle grinder will do fine.)

Im pretty sure I just bought a random unbranded one off ebay for £15 or something...

I found it completely impossible to use by hand, but discovered cranking the pin with my air impact wrench worked an absolute treat.

Have used it several times now, takes seconds and no effort and achieves any size mushroom you want on the rivet.

I usually use a big vice behind the chain and a hammer to rivet it.

I wasted money on this pile of expensive crap (which is why I use a hammer now) and it couldn't even rivet the feckin chain ... guy who wrote the review agress with me (I paid about £60 many moons ago).

Hi

I have one like the one linked to above. It does work fine on soft links (used it on the Bimota last weekend), but not really any use for hard links. Look at the new joining link, if the ends of the pins are a different colour and have a dimple then it is probably a soft link and it will be OK, if they ends are just plane then forget it.

All the best

Keith

Angle grind off, center punch and hammer back on. Done it this way for 20 odd years with no problems.

Watch Garage Night Esp 7 & 8 are on changing a chain. Good for a laugh and how to actually do it without one of the tools you are looking at.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago for about 40 quid, seems pricier now but does everything with the minimum of fuss. Cant recommend it enough, but does seem a little out of your budget Sad

I got one of those Motrax breakers/riviters like in the link above.

It's good. I bought a cheap £20 eBay one before, and it broke after the second or so time of using it.

Good bit of kit to have tucked away somewhere.
