Advice regarding choosing first bike?

I have been riding non-gear vehicles for 7 years ( around 6000 km ).Now I wish to upgrade to bikes so that it would be easier
to learn car driving by next year deepavali festival.
I would prefer a bike comparitively cheaper than many others ( as I may change bikes once in every three years )
and has good safety features, also giving mileage not less than
60 km / lit and trouble-free one.Which one would you suggest.

60km/l? That is the equivalent of 170mpg so I'm not too sure of any bike capable of that. The honda CG125 might give you 120mpg, which is about 40km/litre, but I doubt anything will top that. It ticks all your other boxes as well.

Honda CBF125 it's new for 2009 and doesn't cost as much as some second hand bikes. It will do about 130MPG.
