Hey ho...

I was just wondering if it was safe to "ride" on the bike whilst it was supported on one of those rear stands/supports (NOT the bike stand!)?...this would make running in the engine a little easier (although it would probably pi$$ off the neighbours a bit!)

Please feel free to take the pi$$ if this is a stupid question, but I need a serious answer...

Thanks,

Tin

Nah, nota good idea. U need to run the engine under load (ie with friction from the ground). I ran mine on the centre stand on my RK and the chain slaped everywhere and it was a gerky. Also as the front wheel isnt moving u wouldnt know how many miles youve done. Just take the bike for a VERY long ride of 1000miles, should be run in my then!!!

D'oh! I forgot about that! that would retain a bit of value on the bike though, wouldn't it? Razz

Hmm, I don't mind riding it out on the roads, but it's a little frustrating being "restricted" to 45Mph (maybe 52Mph down a slope), and worrying about not thrashing it too much in the lower gears...

...I might take it down to my local training centre and ask to use their "rolling road" device...what do ya think?

hmm, I just did a little searching for "rolling roads" and I came up with dynos an' stuff...I just want to say that the device that I was referring to (with respect to my local training centre) was nothing like this!...it's just a big hunk of fabricated metal...
