Anyone know any good ones?

I want to get a backpack which I can carry books & things etc.. aswell as being able to carry (or attach) the helmet to it (so that I don't have to carry it in my hand).
I don't want to buy a topbox, I already have one. But don't like it on the bike.

From rummaging around afew topics, I've found this one (link below). which seems to be good, you can attach the helmet on the outside. Seems ideal. £40 is abit much (although thats the best deal I've found, as it comes with that other kit for free)

https://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/901908/Luggage/Special-Offers/Knox

I'm not looking to get one of those chunky hardback backpacks. Just a bag which can also house or attach a helmet (much like above)

indeed, but for the extra £4 or so, you're getting that toold kit and First aid kit for free. Many sites that I've checked that stock that backpack sell it generally for £35-40

Personally I would take a topbox over severe spinal injury any day of the week, but you crack on.

Is it just me, or do they only list 5 benefits in their blurb?

I use a rucksack for carrying work uniform etc in, how is this going to cause me severe spinal injuries? Shocked

Perhaps not a backpack full of soft clothes, but think about landing on your back at 60mph with solid round object in there.

Or sliding along the road and into the kerb, back first with a nice helmet in there to beautifully focus the pressure point onto a couple of verterbrae.

Horrendous.

I really cannot imagine why anyone would put a helmet in a backpack and then strap it to themselves. Get a cargo net and a couple of bungees and spend 30 seconds strapping to your tail, or put it in the topbox.

I have no need myself, to carry another helmet (I've only got 1 anyway).
I bought that cargo net last week. Which I use to strap my backpack to my bike. works wonders. So when I'm riding around, I won't have the backpack on my back. It will be strapped to the bike. But when I come off my bike to walk around etc.. I'll have my bag on my back. So it would be nice to have a backpack that has straps etc.. on it, which I could attach my helmet securely on it. The Knox looks to suit me perfectly. Just wondering if there are any similar ones out there too. So I can compare.

Kriega R35, not cheap but takes a full face lid for when you are at bike races or similar. Look on Ebay, and also check for Krug, that was their name before they were forced to change it but the bags haven't changed much.

Cheers

True but I've had my R35 for over 7 years now, which is a lot longer than I keep my lids.

Cheers

yeah but seeing as the OP does say that he wants a rucksack to carry the helmet when he's off the bike so he doesnt have to carry it in his hand, then then landing on it in the event of an off was never going to be an issue was it Wink
