xr 125

Hi all

Im thinking about getting a honda xr 125, I have read there engine is very good but my question is... Im 6ft 2in am I too big for this bike??

Why would you be too big? 6'2" isn't that big, it's barely above average.

Being an offroad style bike it's about as big as 125's get anyway.

Really good bike, had it when i was on my L's. Decent accell but does lack top speed. Cant go wrong.

I'm 6'2 and had my XR125 for about a year and a half and found it brill, no problems with my height and that was exactly the reason I bought the bike.

I am 6'4 and rode a CG125, more recently I have been riding a GB250 which is physcially smaller than the CG.

It is all about the seating - if it has a bench seat you'll be fine

sorry but just one more question are the knoberly off road looking tyres ok for cornering.

They are usable and lots of people run them however you are reducing the amount of rubber in contact with the floor so they don't have as much grip as a road tire.

the honda is a very reliable bike. never failed on me. easy to learn on. probably one of the better 125's out there if you are big. im 5'8" and even i felt cramped on a cg. i used to do a 3hour trip from loughborough to east london every few weeks and never had any complaints except the top speed. saying that it is a 125 so cant expect much from a 125. the tyres are not the best. i expect some new tyres would help as mine had over 10000 on them so were a little old and worn so it can be expected that they were a bit crappy. only had issues in the wet though. in the dry had the peg down and fair few times and didnt feel like it would slide out from under me

XR125's are pretty good for anybody between 5'4 and 6'4. You wouldn't look horrendously stupid, like as if you've got a pit bike wedged up your batty crack!

The knobblies were OK, but a very poor compromise - didn't offer enough traction off road. That said, they had reasonable grip in the dry... just don't expect miracles from them.

My bike was recalled for some issue with the CDI? Or something to do with the ignition - only affected a few bikes though.
