1 piece suit recommendations

Most/all of my biking this year will be of the fast(ish) road and trackday variety, so i've decided to invest in a 1 piece suit to replace my mix-and-match 2 piece combos.
I've got (up to a maximum of) 600 quid to play with and have been looking at Frank Thomas titanium, RST Forza or 'lower in their range' Arlen Ness or Alpinestars.
Anyone got any personal commendations or 'avoid like the plague' type advice on any of the above?
Also, what should i be looking for in a good 1 piece race suit? CE armour? Leather thickness etc? Fitment?
Equally, how are 1 piece suits sized? I'm 6 foot and 15 stone, what are the chances of getting an off-the-peg suit?

I got an IXON Glactica suit and am very impressed by it. Have a look in to them. Don't know what the price in the UK would be as I got mine in NZ.

I've got an Arlen Ness 2 piece and rate it very highly.

It appears to be very well made and the stitching is top notch, so I imagine a 1 piece would be equally as good. Not only does it look good but it appears to be the 'cool' up and coming brand as well...

Get it fitted properly if you want to ensure the protection will do it's job. Baggy race leathers are a big no no. They should fit like a 2nd skin whilst in a normal riding crouch and it should be uncomfortable to walk normally.

I always prefer to have a cheaper model from a respected brand than an expensive model from a cheap brand. But thats just me. You may want be able to afford something of kangaroo skin which will be lighter and more supple for a given strength compared to cow.

If your going to use it for regular fast track days, then you may be better off allowing £50-£100 of your budget to having it tailored to fit, ensuring you can fit a decent back protector in there too.

It's likely that it will mostly be used during the warmer months then look for decent ventilation too. You can soon suffer fatigue whilst track riding during hot summer days. A lot of decent suits have perforated chest panels and venting.

Try to go with an open mind as to what brand your going to buy. Take your time and try several on and then make your mind up. It's likely to last years if you get it right.

There are various reviews and write-ups as to what suits will have double stitching this and armour that, but every crash is different. One suit may do well in one test whilst another may be better in another. It is very difficult to say one brand is better than the other. At the end of the day the most respected brands tend to be the likes of Crowtree or BKS who make to measure.

I have an Alpinestars suit, it's been great for me and seems really well made, the only thing is that the zip tag came off, but that's fixed with a cable tie.

I would highly reccomend it, but I know that some people wouldn't touch A stars, so to each their own.

Well, i went on a bit of a (legitimate) tart fest today, and after trying on a number of brands and different sizes, i settled on an Alpinestars Stage suit:

I also needed a new helmet, so i bought one, a Shoei XR1000 Kagayama rep.

nice suit. You can also have a customized 1 piece tailored suits. Should be very good if you ride a ducati.

£600? , why not go a touch more and get a custom leather made suit? , Joyda do them for £700 or rather used to and its top notch stuff and absolutely guarenteed to fit if you keep your shape.

I have an alpinsestars GPU, its had 3 crashes on track recently (all below 70mph) and there are holes all over it and the stitching has ripped apart. I am now getting a custom set made by harpers in essex as they have a good reputation.

Was disappointed by the Alpinestars; as i thought it looked like good quality until it was tested properly.
