basicly how is it done? i have been told its some little pin thing you pull out or something but i have no idea. On the newer model you do something with the servo for the powervalve but thats a the problem a 1993 deet doesent have one! any one got any ideas cos it only does bout 65ish and thats with a full big one re-jetted carb 240 and a pipercross!

cheers Ross Thumbs Up

From what I've heard, there are some plates in the exhaust system that need to be removed.

If you're a bit good at welding you could cut open the exhaust and remove them, otherwise you'd need to buy a new exhaust.

Someone who knows more about DT's will no doubt post soon!

the powervalve will still be there, just without the servo to do the mving about - in that case all you need to do is wind the powervalve to the fully open position.

That should give max power at higher revs - but the transition of power from low revs to high revs is going to be like hitting an on/off switch - dangerous if it catches you unawares (going round a roundabout in the wet say)

Sooo need to right a FAQ about this lol

If you sit on the bike, look down on the left hand side of the barrel, theres a circular plate, that is where the valve hides under. Its pegged in position if you don't have the servo.

Remove the allan key bolts and have a gander, you should be able to pull the end out and now rotate the Powervalve, it will look like

<>

It there for being held in by 2 flats on the bit you just pulled off. Its able to go in 4 positions. Only one is fully open. Ones closed, and the others are upside down Rolling Eyes

You suppost to re-jet the carb as well if you do this, especially if you have a non re-stricted exhaust.

Hold on when it get Very high up the revs as it will kick in harsh.

i take no responsibilty for anything ( ever Rolling Eyes )
