NSR 125 RK from 1990. 18k miles.

Is this ok? No idea if it has had any rebuilds in its lifetime.
It runs well apparently but just want to see if you guys know anything about this bike. Anything to look for etc

Just I may be bidding on one in the next day.

Cheers

Consider how much you're paying, they can be fine bikes.
Also consider if it's a NS125R or NSR125R; these are quite different bikes with the NSR125R generally considered 'better', though the NS125 has some charms too.

If it does need work, rebuilds are cheap, but for a bike that age, obviously make sure everything else is ok too.

probly crashed if no fairings. no mot? never believe anyone who says 'no mot but it will pass' if it will pass without doubt then they would have done it themselves as they know and we know the bike is worth alot more. mileage dont really mean alot on 2t's mainly re-build history. if you dont know id do one for piece of mind.
basically an old learner bike that will have had many owner both crash/drop/rag it, what can you expect from 19 years?

yep that one.

Obviously I will go and have a look before hading over cash. I will make sure everything works ok and give it a little test run.

Oh and if I do get it, it will be heavily modded. Re-sprayed, wheels powdercoated and few other bits. Not planning on reselling.

It's a rough 'un. For every bodge you see there will be 2 hidden ones. Could be a good little project if it goes cheap enough.

That bike looks like a NSR125F - which is designed not to have fairings.
I always question 'no Mot' - I'd give it a decent looking over before pledging any money.

G's correct: If it's an RK then it should have fairings.

Like mine had:

Mine was great, until Jack blew it up red lining it every day between Telford and Wolverhampton.

What the funk is that huge gold thing over the front half of the bike.

They're basically fake ram-air ducts. They were quite popular on a variety of bikes in the early 90s (and maybe late 80s).
I don't know if they came in gold as standard; mine were black.

The gold doesn't look standard - all the gold plastic 'bling' on my bike matched the colour of the frame...

My mate has one of those. He's found it a great little bike. Great for learners, got a bit of poke, even restricted and can survive a few crashes.

As far as I know he's had no problems with his, and he's not exactly mechanically minded.

I owned one of these, fun little bike. It will be restricted unless you fancy changing the CDI and power valve actuator.

Spares for it were getting harder to find when I owned one, most of the later foxeye NSR bits do not fit.
