Ok, someone knocked my bike over. Iv left a not (very civil) listing the damages so he knows its nothing trivial, with my phone number. Also taken pictures of everything and noted reg. numbers:

can anyone advise what the next step should be when he calls me tomorrow?

the car is local and i wasn't anywhere near the bike, so is this a straightforward case of one party taking liability?

Damages :
-fairing damaged left top and bottom
-wingmirror
-indicator
-engine casing
-and exhaust scratched and no longer in line with that on the other side

can't fooking beleive it, only got the bike back on the road this morning from a flat tyre....... Thumbs Down Sick

In a perfect world the guilty party would hold their hands up and pay for the damage, unfortunately we live in a far from perfect world....

You did call the cops right? , tell me you called the cops or have some CCTV evidence that you can use the FoI or ask a lawyer to get for you.. (find the people who run the car park and ask for the CCTV evidence).

Else it becomes a his word vs your word type arrangement...

First thing would be to tot up the costs of repair to a level of satisfaction that you are happy with. Then present the bill you can bet 100% s/he will say no and try to worm out of it and even try to twist it to say that it was your fault.

Which means you have to take it to a solicitors... and in effect sue them personally and try to get damages which the insurance companies should indemify.

Which is why you should have called the cops and said somebody was hurt, they are obliged to come out and investigate.

Was it windy? Your cover could have been caught in the wind and pulled your bike over.

not being funny but you sure it was that car? I mean who would knock the bike over and still just park there! the car is facing forward so it' snot a reverse and didn't notice job. Plus, the damage on teh car doesn't look (to me) like the damage you'd expect from knocking the bike over.. looks as if there's more surface area contact on the bumper from a larger, flatter surface.

I could be wrong but if there's no CCTV footage I think it would be hard to prove, unless there was an eye witness or two, whom you'll never find.

the big flake of paint, was it transferred, or was there small traces o the ground?

Unless there was a witness, you cannot prove she hit your bike.

Unless she admits it, you cant do anything.

Similar thing happened with my sisters car. Woman in the same flat hit her car and left her paint on my sisters car. You could see the scratch on her car too but the police said you cant do anything without a witness.

Erm wouldnt they have driven off! Or found another car park spot?? If I had of done it I would have waited for the biker and swapped details. I once backed in to a car by mistake (mine was brand new and this was a piece of rusty tin) but I waited for the driver and explained what happened. Waited ages too but I would not have driven off with out telling them.

I wonder if someone else did it, kids may be? I doubt its the car driver tbh,

So i recon it was drunk folk. The police called me back today to follow things up and said they would check cctv but not to get my hopes up.
