If You have not had the mmr injection you should get it asap.
My son Jay is in hospital with swollen balls.
I had a long post but deleted it so the message would be clear.
Get done.

Paddy.

Best wishes to your boy paddy, we had a bit of a debate over which way to go but went for it in the end although it wasn't an easy decision.

Hope he's sorted soon. Thumbs Up

Yep I agree, I'm 23 but I got a letter through saying that I should come for a jab and I went and got it done. In and out in under 3 minutes!

He is in there but no friends can come in to see him.
I have a taxi ordered early and have his laptop charged and his phones.
Still sorting stuff out but I don't need sleep now.

He was asleep on the sofa all day yesterday and I asked him 3 times to go to the doctor but he just went to sleep.
I insisted and took him there myself. The doctor said take him straight to the hospital.
When we got to the hospital the receptionist rang someone and they took him straight in.
At that stage he had a temperature of 107 and was talking rubbish.
He is ok now and has an ice pack on his sack but will have to stay there until tomorrow at least.
God only knows what would have happened if I didn't insist on him going to the doctor.
By the way he is 20 years old and I know some of you are around that age and thats why I posted to let you know.

Take care.

Paddy.

I seen a lot of people my age (i'm 20) have been getting mumps recently. I had the MMR and had a booster I think as well.

Seriously, I cannot understand parents who are still concerned about the MMR - Autism link. Even if there was a minute risk, i'd still rather have that risk then contract any of those 3 diseases that it protects against.

Hope your son gets well soon.

The problem was started by a paper published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) in 1998 by Andrew Wakefield linking the MMR jab with autism. The claims were fabricated by wakefield for commercial gain ( he had interests in a rival vaccination program) and partially reinforced by former Prime Minister Tony Blair who refused to have his son vaccinated.
God knows the suffering these people have caused.

Sorry for bumping this but I feel it is needed.
His mum was the one in control at the time he should have got the jab and did not like it.
I have rang her and she says the other 3 have had the jab but I don't get it.
Why not tell me or Jay to sort this out as she is sorting the others out.

Any way it is not fun.

Long story short.Me and Jay live here just the two of us for the last 14 years.

Take care and look out for others.

Paddy.

+1

At the time the specialists were saying that the herd immunisation was in danger and in a few years time we would see the return of illnesses that have been all but eradicated. But the scaremongers had a good mouth off and used clip and paste to prove without a doubt the mutants mmr would create. Where are those scare mongerers now?

I only have one vacination and thats rebella. I am shocked I still live. No boosters or anything. My sister had the MMR jab and yes I know it may not be connected but she developed autism , severly. And she was ok before that. Yes no proof but weird. Also same thing happened to my mates kid to. But its good to see that its not linked though.

Hope jay feels better soon Paddy, take it he is in daisy hill?

Is it contagous? (sp). I am supposed to have certain vaccinations as i am in the spleenless club. Not sure if i had the mmr jab when i was a wee whipper snapper.

I am supposed to have the flu jab every year (starting from last year) but i refuse to get it simply because just about every person i know that has had the jab has come down with the flu (sort of) and been knocked out for 3 weeks. So god knows what it would do to me, if i get the flu then i'll go to the docs/hospital and get sorted.

Might have to organise some vaccinations soon. Had 2 when i was in hospital in my arse, my god them needles are big and it hurt like a blackman porking a virgin Shocked

MMR - Autism link

Josh has his done couple of years ago but it took me some time to come to that decision.
My sisters second eldest had the Jab - and she some reaction - Caused her to have fits / complete mad moments - And now shes classed as disabled.
Its really sad to see - Shes only 12 but acts around 8 - on so many tablets a day also.

Just an update.
He got out the other day.
First thing he did was get a nice cold beer and put it in his pants to cool the balls down. Shocked
Drink loads of water.
No sign of him looking yellow now.
I was worried he would die.He was that bad.

Can I ask - what makes you think it's linked to the MMR jab?

Get well soon. It's nice to hear he's doing ok.

I've had the jab in the 80's, with a few others. Is it one of them jabs that needs doing every so-often?

No, you only need two.

One when you're a baby (well, when I was a baby) then one a few years later.

Lots of info here:
