I used them to buy a chain, and they were useless fucking cunts.

Took them TWO WEEKS before they even dispatched the bloody thing! (it was in stock when i ordered, so they were jus lazy). When they did send it, they sent the wrong one! And it took a further two weeks to get hold of them! No answers to emails or phone calls. I managed to track own the guys homwe phone number, and got through to some older sounding bloke who told me he'd get him to call me back. he eventually did a few days later and sent me the correct chain. (he sent me a replacement, before i sent the old one back, so that's a slight plus).

Said he'd refund me the return postage, which he never did. Was also VERY poorly packaged, arrived with the packaging ripped and in tatters...

Avoid like the plague.

If they're a bonafida registered company then they're legally obliged to clearly display their registered office address and also their company number. Even if they're not then there should be a postal address clearly placed on the site, usually on the contact page.

Googled the phone number, postal address appears to be;

11 Pinewood Road, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 3HN, UK

Which is a residential address........ Question Rolling Eyes

After a brief search I can't find any trading details for them, I personally never trust a site that I don't know and can't see who they are.

They may be a perfectly legit business but in that case why not proudly display on your website who you are?

Because they don't want to be broken into maybe?

Fair point, although registered office can be different to trading address/warehouse anyway. Most of the companies I work for use their accountants address as registered office and another address for correspondence.

There's no details on the site as to WHO you are dealing with, whether they are a limited company, LLP or sole trader. No VAT details.

There are legal requirements of the updated version of the Companies Act 1985.

The very basic requirements even for Joe Blogs selling stuff on a website are;

"If you are an online business, you must display:

*general information about your business - including business name, address, email address, VAT registration number (if applicable)

*details of any relevant professional body that you belong to or any authorisation scheme to which your service is subject"

OP I have never purchased anything from Moto-Racing so cannot advise for or against shopping with them, the above info is merely for reference. Make your own mind up.

It is more than likely that they are a small company who are not up to date with the legal requirements for business websites rather than deliberately hiding their identity.

I know what the DSR's are.

I also understand that many of the regs were aimed at large businesses moving onto the internet not self employed people working from home which the internet has allowed many people to be.

I didn't say I agreed with the company not giving a physical address I just pointed out why they didn't.
