Hi all
I have had 2 good quotes for fully comp on my 2007 ybr

Devitt £162.37
or
Bennets £184

Any one know which is the better for anyproblems?
Seen some bad reviews for Devitts and the girl from Bennets said they were better as they pay market value in case of write off.

Any recommendations?

Then again they are at least £30 less than any other broker.

Going to give them a ring advising i'm leaving as i have a quote of and see waht they say.
If they offer to match, its still going to be tough, i've already taken up the new price and that they should send out the lowest price possible NOT the highest.....

Just going to make more work for them.
Using Quidco gets me a further £20 cash back as well

our experience with bennetts was not good at all. They where happy to take the money but at a claim it was a different story

my husband's bike got stolen when it was parked behind our house with a flat tire. (normally in the shed but he was going to fix the tire later that day)

While I phoned the police when we noticed it, he was on the other phone to bennetts

we waited about 2 weeks, then phoned because we had not heard back in the 48 hours they advised. At this time they said they had no claim registered!

We waited a further couple of weeks and then phoned to see what is going on. They had no record of the claim.

At this point I got upset and after some crap they tried to spin, we hung up with a promise of a call from a manager. This happened 2 more times after waiting for calls that never happened. Which we still haven't received after nearly 2 years!

We decided with all the hassle and the phone calls made to bennetts and to the underwriters of the policy it wasnt worth claiming anymore.

A friend at work had a similar experience with them as well. I don't know if these are isolated cases, but in my mind all the money you pay out in insurance. Its the times that something happens and you need to claim that defines what the money you were paying was for

Personally I've never had a problem with claims with bennetts, but renewal for my gsx600f went from £600 to £700. Unjustified for a 20 yo 4NCB on a insurance group 11 bike.

I'd go for the cheapest.

See if Carole Nash can come up with something competitive, they're pretty good in my experience.

Out of the two - Devitts; but then I would say that they're part of the group I work for

Do not use Bennetts! I used them once to insure an RG125 years ago only had the bike a couple of months before trading up to an NC29 CBR400 they did a really crap quote on that so I went elsewhere, cancelled the policy at Bennetts & they only gave me back 1/3 of the policy value even though I had only 2 months insurance. Fucking robbing bastards. They'll never pay out if you have to make a claim either.

In all honesty the days of short period cancellation rates have well and truly gone with the "Treating Customers Fairly" bit. One mention of the FSA to an insurer and they'll drop to pro-rata with a "reasonable" admin fee

F**K Bennetts!! i wouldnt use them again if it was free! they suck!

I have had so many problems with them when i was with them and all the problems were all transferred to my newer insurance company and took me months to get them all cleared up.

Express insurance are no better either.. just as rubbish.
