I find Lee Evans lame to be honest. I don't think he's got much diversity of material: it's mostly "gendered" comedy, a take on men versus woman, most of which is not really very astute, and plays to very rigid stereotypes of men and women.

When I watych Evans, I always feel that his comedy misses the mark: it's like, "it would be funny, if your jokes about woemn's behaviour were ground in reality".

Also trying to 'humourise' unamusing spoken jokes with excess/disordered body movement grows boring after awhile. It works for slapstick, like Wisdim in the 50's, but it's not really the stuff of stand up.

Why does age have anything to do with finding him funny? In fact he is a throw back to the late 1950s, what is known as "The Shyte Age of British comedy". I just phoned my 30 year old daughter to ask if she finds Lee Evans funny "Funny, is he bolloxs funny, he is a kynt and a rather dull one at that".

I used to find him very funny and when I saw him live I found him funny, however I laugh at pretty much anything live so no mean feat.

What I like is when you think someone is crap and then turns out to be hilarious. A recent example for me being Michael McIntyre. On every panel show I had ever seen him on I always thought he was awful and not funny. I watched his DVD and i'm not sure i've ever laughed as hard as I did that day. Probably because it was so unexpected.

I do find though, that some of his mannerisms are similar to Lee Evans, however I think he is generally funnier. I loved his sketch on Argos stores. "When you go to collect your item, it is like sitting in the theatre for the poor."

Anywho, yer I really like Jimmy Carr as well. Saw him live last year and met him afterwards, really nice guy. He signed my ticket (and my mates) and I asked him to sign my post "To Ebay".....he didn't .......he signed it "To the lucky bidder" .

I use to hate him when many liked him. Now that everyone hates him, I've started to like him. Well I saw about 10 mins the other day, and for once, he was quite funny.
