As of the last week or so the MT50's been missing a fire. When cold, the bike won't reach the top end of gears and makes a rattle noise. If you warm it up for about 10 minutes it's usually fine. The strange thing is that I've never had the problem before and it's always ran well when cold. Do you have any idea what is causing this? It's not overly important as I change the bike next month but it's annoying going to work at 25mph.

Hi

Well, you are not really meant to thrash them from cold.

First thing I would check for a rattle is that the spark plug is tight. After that being a 2 stroke I would check the piston / rings.

All the best

Keith

I don't think the rattle is related to the plug though there's no point putting a new piston kit into it if I only have it till June, thank God.
