power problem

hi, long time no see. i recently got another gsxr 750 y model (k1 shape) and it doesnt seem as powerfull as my last one. i could get the front up with not a great deal of throttle now on this one i can give it loads of throttle and it doesnt even hint at coming up.

any idea why the loss of power/ things to check

i could do about 80mph in 1st gear on my last bike and i can on this one. so i would of thought it was the gearing. or am i wrong

its not the not wheelying that bothers me its why the power isnt there

Tried airfilter? super instead of unleaded?

ive always used normal unleaded. i might take a look at the air filter tomorrow see if anything is blocking it.

Yeah you best check it, the difference between power wheelies and no power wheelies is obviously the ron level in your fuel and your air filter. Get a K&N and some super and it will pull your arms off

Im sorry it may have sounded sarcastic, while your checking the air filter make sure theres no dark shadows in your rear brake fluid and no cracks in your tyre wall, both these can account for hoooge losses

Honestly, I'd suggest sticking it on a dyno. The graph would quickly tell you if it's in your head or if there is a lack of power.

It aint been restricted has it ?

Could just be that it needs a damn good service , if air filter amd spark plugs are fouled up , that aint gonna help things , and an oil change wouldnt hurt.

Has the servicing been kept up to date ? Whats the milage like on it ?

Are you sure that by having a random a random stab in the dark at what it could be is actually helpful whatsoever? Or did the compulsion to just say something get the better of you? Theres being helpful but theres also being ridiculous, your talking about an air filter stripping a noticeable bit of power off a 750cc bike. The original poster is then thinking of getting at the fitter to look at it consequently, for bugger all reason other than youve plucked it out of the air via some half brained guess. You are wasting his time, you know it and I know it so why not leave it to the others on here who have a clue. I didnt suggest a fault because I imagined the genuine reason for a sportsbike losing power goes a bit further than the wrong kind of headlight bulb.

Am i too late to make the hilarious check your tyre pressures post?
Could be airfilter tho, although hugely unlikely, what if the filter is caked in mud, and can suck fook all air fru it, then it will be noticibly down on power although i doubt hes been off roading his 750, whimp

Why dont you find a similar kind of cc/power output bike and race em see if theres comes up and see if yours has a different top speed per that gear, thisll only work if there very similar in power mind lol.
