Hi guys im new to this forum and the world of two wheels all together so im hoping you can give me some advice ?!

Just turned 20 and been driving for two years now (car) due the the credit crunch i figure it will save me alot to get a little 125 (and take a CBT) for my daily commute around 35 miles round trip.

I was considering a DT 125x or YZF R 125 due to my height 6 foot 4 and from what ive been reading yamaha are height friendly.

What would you recomend ? I hear that the YZF R provides excelent handling and is the "sportiest" 125 along with the RS but still providing reliablilty as it uses a 4 stroke engine and an apparent 103 MPG Shocked

Where as the DT 125 isnt as agile or economical but would be great as there are alot of back roads around where i live in the countryside

What 125 would you recomend for a novice?(Would like a geared bike no twist and go's thanks)

Thankyou

you could head over to the new bikers section of this forum where this kind of dilemma has been touched on a couple of times.
oh and get the dt ,you wont look nearly as silly as on the sporty bike.
dtx is a very chuckable fun little bike, and its a 2 stroke so a simple little cdi mod and you will be faster than the 4stroke as well.

my nephew had a dtx for a year and it was fine it put up with the neglect and abuse a 17 year old gives these things, also dosnt cost a fortune in plastics when dropped.
