I once got told that the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. I'm not sure I believe that, but I'll ask anyway...

    1) How the hell do the jet washes work at petrol stations?
    2) Is one of them going to be any good for getting the shit off my bike that I can't reach with a brush/sponge?

Cheers!

depends on the place , sometimes they have a coinslot as in Cornwall / Wales which you shove in £1 coins , in Falmouth is was 3 minutes hot and 3 minutes cold water.

In Manchester they give you tokens which you have to buy in the shop and put into a slot in the machine.

It can remove some of the dirt but be careful where you point it, ie don't point it at bearings or pivots or air intakes or electrics.

Since my broken home one can clean concrete slabs as new I think it will be able to shift thick dried on mud. It removed all traces of Africa from the Africa twin since it had never been cleaned from crossing the Sahara 2004.

One near me, you go in the shop, £1 for 3 minutes, £2 for 6 minutes and £3 for 9 minutes. They give you a code which you punch into the jet washer then you pick brush or jet, then pick what youi want to do e.g. hot shampoo rinse, or jet rinse or wax finish etc

Also, jet washes nowadays have buttons where you can choose the program you want, rather than it changing automatically.
