My god I am sh1te!!! Very Happy

Went to Tonymoto motocross track on my YZ125, really struggled in the rutty bits ... anyway, here is the resulting vid ... have to say I am a little embarrassed to show it I am that carp!! Embarassed Laughing

I started the vid off with my fave bit of the track ... didn't mind that bit as it wasn't massively rutted - so wound the wick up a bit in that section! Thumbs Up .. the second part is almost a complete lap of the track ... it might not look like it in the vid, but many of those ruts were axle deep ... lots of ppl getting caught out ... I was too chicken to go fast enough to get caught out!! Laughing

Don't put yourself down
You having been riding MX that long i believe and looks like you did ok to me.
Track does look seriously rutted in places and as you say looks like several struggled with them and they have probably been riding longer than you.
At the end of the day, ride to your capabilities and the track conditions, its too easy (like it is on the road) to try to keep up with the pack who may be a lot more experienced than you, and then you come a cropper.

Seriously tempted to get back off road again, if only i had some money

Ooh that brings back memories. I did the 'b' track ages back with Sparks on my DRZ and in a couple of areas it was similarly rutted. In the end I went for the 'switch brain off and gas it' approach which worked most of the time, but one one occasion it did result in a slightly disorientating whack on the head as the bike decided it was all a bit much and wanted to lie down. Laughing

I remember thinking that the A track look pretty hairy, so fair play to you for having a go at that without much experience. Thumbs Up

track looks damn rutted. But you still did pretty well for someone that has not been doing it long. The speed all comes with MX experience.
Nice vid and good pics too.

Ta Smile

I actually bought the 2nd pic in a 15x10 ... in isolation it actually looks like I kinda know what I am doing, so I'll put it on my wall!! Laughing

Shame the 'jump' ones had all the vans etc in the background ... and (as you can see for the vid) I was getting a bit more 'air' as my confidence grew than those pics show ....

I think if it wasn't so rutted, I'd have got on much better as I could have kept a bit more flow and gone at the jumps a bit harder - landing fast into loads of rutts wasn't a good idea in my brain Wink ... it was very busy (all 3 groups full) ... I'm hoping next time its a bit less packed. i.e. the track gets less 'hard'.

Depending on the weather I might go this week!! Thumbs Up

Thats the sort of place I want to take my Pit! Sure it would have enough power / speed to make it over most of those jumps. Just dont think the wheels are big enough to plough through some of those ruts.

Looks real cool though man. Just the 2 stroker sounds would do my head in. 4t thumper all the way.

I went again today ... I am deffo getting better Smile I'll start a new thread about today ...

As for pit-bike, not sure how the suspenders would hold up with 'proper' jumps?

The kids on the little 80cc crossers are fine, but I am not sure a pit bike is made for that sort of malarkey with an adult onboard??!?? Thinking

Might be worth giving them a ring and asking if they allow them!! Thumbs Up ... you might be able to slip out unnoticed with the kids on their 80s!! Very Happy ... some of them are amazingly quick!! Thumbs Up

Anyhoo, here is the thread/footage from today ... https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=167920
