Ive got a problem with my Xbox in the sense that, now my trial has expired - i need to pay.

No problem, i suppose, however i cannot buy them through the XBox. For some reason it loads up the yank pay system rather than the UK, so i cant input my correct address unless im in the states. The profile and the Xbox are set to UK but it still does it.

So i need to get one of the promo code things to give me my month.

Does anyone know any trustworthy websites where i can get a code instantly?

How much does it cost in the shops in comparison to these online places then?

Irrelivant now.

Got a code from a shop - took it home - still says it needs "more details" and asks for a Yank address and zip code.

Called Tech Support - most useless people i have ever spoke to.

My account automatically set itself to US and now cannot be changed, i didnt have a choice in the matter.

So im now screwed. Got to do it all again!

BAH! Hate Microsoft.

I am actually seriously dissapointed, like realy dissapointed. The console cost so much money, for them to then charge to play online anyway is out of order in my eyes - never had to do that with any console / pc before, why should i for XBL? Then, for the largest software and hardware company in the world, to employ the least qualified and least helpfull customer support staff, i mean what the hell?

I actually felt quite upset that a company could charge so much, for something this pathetic!?

I think I may have a solution.

With your windows live ID, does it say that you are based in the USA? If so go into settings on your hotmail on your PC and change it to the UK.

Then reset your XBL account and try and set it up again, I think it should come up with the UK address details. I think I had this problem when I first got my X360.

I don't mind paying for XBL tbh it has such a large online community (apart from PGR4 Crying or Very sad ) that it's worth paying for. If only you could pay for banning all yanks from playing in the same game as you.

I did think about that, but im not using a windows live ID. Or at least not a hotmail account, im actually using the email address from my webspace which is all UK based.

Its very strange why it has set to US.

My other solution was to bang in any US adress i could find on google, then XBL would be happy and take my promo code. But i was unsure of the knock on effects of that?

I think you'll need to buy a US code and enter that, sell the Uk code on to someone else.

If you look at the online sellers they seem to sell region specific codes.

Either way it asks for more details - so what ever code i have, it wants a US address.

Ive just had to use a new account and now need to pay more money so i can change my gamer tag! FFS! And i cant use my original gamer tag, because its allready in use, and costs me money to change it to something else.

Seriously - what a bunch of robbing jippos. Does it realy need to cost for them to change a name in their databases? Er - No. Change a few fields for my region? Er - No.

To be gay in the first place and force you to set your region despite allready having an Xbox that is defaulted to UK spec? NO!

Seriously - such a dissapointment.

I slated my Wii for being rubbish - but it was no where near as lame as this.

I mean, what kind of extra security does it realy give, having to enter the address that the card is registered to? All that does is means you have to know who's card you nicked! What a waste.
