Hi everyone

Some ****ers smashed the steering lock and top yoke on my nsr the other day.

I've just bought the necessary spares and have started the job but am now stuck!

I've removed the centre 30mm nut and the two 6mm allen bolts, turned the handle bars to every position.. but i can't get the top yoke to budge.

Has anyone done this job before? Any tips?

Thanks
Tim

They can be quite stiff.
If the bars are under the yoke, often they are bolted onto it from underneath.
If not, some WD40 and lots of wobbling/pulling will probably do the trick.

got it off now.

resorted to hitting it with a hammer! (even hits either side)
as I was throwing the old one away, i wasn't worried about damaging it.

Would know how to do it without causing damage though?!

Usually it's fine. Maybe it got slightly damaged when they were trying to force the steering lock, or might just be a bit stuck generally.
