2nd gear woes

recentley noticed on my cbr 600 that under hard acceleration when pulling away that when i select 2nd gear it clicks in but no drive almost like it hasnt selected the gear .
now i havent a clue on bike gearboxes so any1 have any ideas as to where to start looking
its a 1989 cbr600 with 46000 miles on it
under normal riding gears are ok

gear selector forks normally the issue here, unless 2nd gear is completely fooked of course!

hi m8

don't wont to sound like im taking the piss as im only going on info you have posted

when a lot of young new riders go for it they often get the 2nd gear change wrong and don't select it properly.

so as it works fine when riding normally i think you are missing the gear.

if however you are finding its popping out of gear after its selected its possible that the gear dogs are worn and that is a strip down im afraid hth

ps if you've been riding for yrs i doubt its the bad gear change Rolling Eyes
